This event will include a workshop with Tangaroa Blue @ SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium where you’ll learn about the Australian Marine Debris Initiative and the amazing work going on around Australia to clean up our beaches and wild places. This will be followed by an excursion to the Ocean Film Festival at Crown Village Cinemas. Your ticket price is included in the program fees.
In today’s workshop and excursion, you’ll learn more about surveying and monitoring with respect to clean ups and rubbish collection, where to enter your clean up data so as to contribute to a wider citizen science network, and media communication as you check out the latest ocean cinematography in the film festival. Could you be the next young ocean documentary maker?
What to bring: Ocean Youth is a single use plastic free program so please bring a reusable water bottle, coffee cup, bag and snacks or food in reusable containers. Dinner is not included in the workshop so bring money for dinner if you’re not bringing your own.
