It started with one person!

If, as a young person, you think your voice doesn’t count or isn’t being heard you’re wrong!

The rise of the Student Strike for Climate over the last few months shows that your voice is as important as anyone else’s, and what’s more there’s a whole bunch of people that are listening.

Although still counting, it’s estimated that over 1 Million students, parents and teachers attended the recent strikes in over 200 countries! That is massive and possibly the biggest action we’ve seen in recent history.

The remarkable thing about all of this? It started with one person; Greta Thunberg, sitting outsider her parliament every Friday since the middle of last year. As she consistently, and relatively quietly sat outside her government’s offices, calling for action on climate, she got more and more attention from the media and other students who felt as deeply as Greta started to follow her lead. Greta has now been nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize for her commitment to securing a healthy future for all generations.

Just because you’re young doesn’t mean you can’t affect change because you absolutely can 🙂
