School holidays brought some special opportunities for Sydney Ocean Youth Ambassadors to engage with aquarium visitors on how they can make a positive impact for our oceans. The OY team spoke with hundreds of visitors in the aquarium’s peak period, school holidays, on the issue of plastic pollution and what each of us can do to reduce our plastic footprints. They also asked for signatures to ban the plastic bag in the lagging states of Victoria, NSW and WA. There was a really positive response from both the public and the mentoring Guest Experience team on having the students help them in sharing such important information.
Well done team!
